Katie Holt, a young teacher, was driving quietly his Volkswagen Golf through the streets of London on a summer day. I was on my way to work at Felsted school where he taught when he was brutally struck in the rear of the vehicle by a huge truck. suddenly, the brightness of the day went to black and Katie just stopped to remember. They flew glass, metal, car tops and the teacher gave was inside.
Meanwhile, Kevin Mann, the truck driver who had hit Katie, prayed aware that nothing serious happened. Suddenly the Golf stopped spinning and embedded with violence in the trailer truck. It was the end, it should be the end.
Kevin got out of the truck, hit, and gave unsteadily toward the small car. That was when he heard voices. Incredibly Katie was conscious.
She is asking for help and screaming desperate. However, it was really impossible to get her out of where I was. There were iron bars, metal structures, plastic and a rescue team was needed to release the problem.
Finally, after hours of an extraordinary rescue, Katie got out of his vehicle. However, she had fractures in his face and had to be rushed to hospital.
He spent 10 days hospitalized before he was discharged. I had to learn to walk again, took months to recover all of their memories, and today has words for the terrible accident that almost cost him his life.
“When I saw the pictures of the accident I Impacte. It ‘s amazing what the human body is capable of. I put 100 percent in my recovery and it has not been easy. I have still no recollection of the accident and I can only remember when I got to the hospital. After seeing the images of the accident I feel incredibly lucky to be here , “ Katie, 39 professor said.
After a few months there was trial and Kevin Mann, the truck driver, pleaded guilty to travel without due care on the streets.Colchester court forced him to pay a fine of 930 pounds for the full recovery of Katie.
She was lucky, but not everyone would run with the same fortune in an accident of this magnitude. So it is always necessary to be extremely careful when driving and do it always on the defensive.
