The biographical film Selena was released in 1997, and is about the life of the Queen of Tex-Mex, their origins, growth in the music industry, his intense romance with the guitarist of the band Los Dinos and the heartbreaking moment in which his assistant, Yolanda Saldivar, snatches his life.
The tape was produced with the participation of Selena’s family and launched to fame with several members of the cast, among them Jennifer Lopez, who had to learn to speak Spanish to be able to have the role. However, the choice of this “new actress” with puerto rican roots caused a lot of controversy. Here is a small summary of what has happened with each one of the participants of the cast.

2. Jackie Guerra – Suzette Quintanilla
The woman who played the older sister of Selena continued with her career and starred in the comedy the First Time Out. Co-starred in the PBS series, American Family, and has garnered some roles in movies such as Picking Up the Pieces, Woody Allen.
3. Constance Marie – Marcela Quintanilla
Became popular for her work in Selena, and currently plays Regina Vasquez in the drama of the ABC Family. He also participated in the series George Lopez and had a part in the comedy an American Family.
4. Jon Seda – Chris Perez

5. Edward James Olmos – Abraham Quintanilla

6. Jacob Vargas – Abie Quintanilla
The mexican actor who played the younger brother of Selena has over 90 tapes in his having, among the more recent are The Road Home , 2016 and Electric Dreams, 2017.
7. Rebecca Lee Meza – Selena girl
The career of the young actress who played Selena when he was still a small -then was nine years old – never went away. After the film, participated in an album of songs for children called Live your dream. 8. Lupe Ontiveros – Yolanda Saldivar

Unfortunately, the actress passed away in 2012, a victim of liver cancer.
